The city of Surabaya is a major transportation gateway to the East Java region of Indonesia. Getting to Surabaya by land is also possible by taking the train. It takes at least nine hours to get to Surabaya from Jakarta by train. Surabaya actually has two main stations: one is the Surabaya Gubeng and the other is Surabaya Pasar Turi. Those coming from the northern route usually arrive at the Pasar Turi Station while those who took the southern route arrive at the Gubeng train station.
